If you would like to…yes! If you don’t wish to…no! Your size, bodyfat, and muscle mass are largely a reflection of your nutrition. Without proper nutrition, you can train all you want, and not make any significant changes to your body composition. We will teach you how to eat properly to sustain health and performance, while giving you the physique you want in the process. We just ask that you commit to at least year to the process before you judge our effectiveness.
Our highly experienced coaching staff and organized, periodized group programming. All those other services are randomly performed, with random exercise selection and arbitrary work loads. Our programming has been thought out on a 6-12 month timeline, allowing you to make consistent, sustained progress over a long period of time, while avoiding the pitfalls of overtraining, overuse, and injury.
You should expect to have your coach’s attention. You should expect to understand the tasks given to you by the coach. You should expect to feel supported and encouraged by your coach. You should expect to leave your first session feeling like you learned something, were challenged, and are excited to try it again.
Classes run for 75 minutes, 15 minutes longer than the typical CrossFit class. This gives us the proper amount of time to give you a thorough warm-up, proper instruction, and performance of the WOD.
It can be, IF you don’t know what you are doing and try to go it alone. And IF you chose one of those other facilities whose coaches lack credentials and are busy on their cell phone when they should be paying attention to you. At Terrapin Strength we pride ourselves in teaching you how to reach your goals and sustain them over a lifetime without injuries. Our progressions and coaching decisions will make certain that your risk of injury is exceedingly low. However, in order for us to do our job, you must be open and honest with us with how you are feeling. If something is in pain, don’t hide it…tell us immediately.

We scale, or modify, what was recommended. If you can’t do a 185 pound deadlift, pick a weight that you can do. If five rounds is too high a training volume now, let’s scale it back to three. Everyone scales and modifies, even us experts. Scaling and modification should never be seen as inadequate or inferior to the prescribed group plan. Scaling and modifying is necessary to ensure your continued progress over a lifetime without serious injury. Use scaling and modification often, and if you are not sure how to in a given workout, just ask for our advice!
